Happy Planet
• Beemster has developed the LifeCycle-Compass. With this instrument the farmers measure the impact of their farm on the environment and landscape.
• Beemster cheese is CO2-neutral: Beemster and all of our farmers use only green energy and green gas.
• Environmental friendly logistics: Together with our milk transporters we invest in more sustainable transport of the milk from the farms to the dairy. These trucks utilize a “bi-fuel system”. The advantage of this system is that the GHG-emission decreases by 6% and the emission of soot by over 10%.
• Beemster has plans to build a new dairy with the ambition to use sustainable building materials and focus on the reuse of water and reduce usage of electricity.
